Current Bill Summary
SB 275 - This act allows the placement of a deaf or hearing
impaired notation on drivers' licenses. Any deaf or hearing
impaired person may apply to the Department of Revenue for the
placement of a "J88" notation on his or her driver's license.
The code "J88" indicates that the person is deaf or hearing
impaired and uses alternative communication. The Department may
develop rules regarding cost, criteria, and the submission of
medical proof.
