SB465C-JUDICIAL FINANCE COMMISSION
Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

HCS SB 465 -- JUDICIAL FINANCE COMMISSION

SPONSOR: Bartle (Byrd)

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Judiciary by a vote of 18 to 0.

Under current law, the Judicial Finance Commission must resolve a
dispute over the circuit court budget with the county before the
beginning of the fiscal year in question. The substitute allows
the commission, if the dispute is submitted within 90 days of the
end of the fiscal year, to resolve the dispute within 90 days of
the beginning of the subsequent fiscal year. The substitute also
modifies the annual report of the commission to include separate
information on all divisions of the circuit court of each county,
including the probate division.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill will improve the
efficiency and operation of the Judicial Finance Commission.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Bartle; and Supreme Court of
Missouri.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
