CO-SPONSORS:  Farmer, Cooper

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Tourism, Recreation and Cultural Affairs by a vote of 23 to 0.

This bill requires that any unexpended  money in the Missouri
arts council trust fund at the end of the biennium will not be
transferred and placed to the credit of the general revenue fund.

FISCAL NOTE:  Estimated Net Cost to General Revenue Fund of $0
in FY 97, $4,127,000 in FY 98, and $0 in FY 99.  Estimated Net
Increase Effect to Missouri Arts Council Trust Fund of $0 in FY
97, $4,127,000 in FY 98, and $0 in FY 99.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this legislation will make a
technical correction to the legislation passed in 1993.  The
intent of the legislation was to build the trust fund until 2004.

Testifying for the bill were Representatives Farmer and Cooper.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
