HB 848 -- RESIDENTIAL CARE FACILITIES

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Social
Services, Medicaid and the Elderly by a vote of 16 to 0.
This bill authorizes residential care facilities I and II which
are the only such facilities in third class counties to increase
their bed capacity by 5 beds or 15 percent of the total,
whichever is less, during the period beginning July 12, 1996 and
ending July 12, 1998.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that these changes will allow
facilities to use their existing bed capacity.
Testifying for the bill were Representative DeMarce; and
Missouri Residential Care Association.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
