BILL SUMMARIES

INTRODUCED

HB 868 -- Property Tax

Sponsor:  Murphy

Under current law, assessors in St. Louis City and in St. Louis
County may value property for purposes of real property tax
assessment by a computer-assisted method using generally
accepted appraisal techniques and comparable sales of similar
properties without doing an actual appraisal.  This bill repeals
this provision and require an actual appraisal at all times.
