SB 553 -- POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION OPTIONS

The postsecondary course option currently allows eligible high school juniors and seniors to attend classes on a college or university campus and receive both high school and college credit for completion of the course. The bill removes the grade level restriction. The bill also allows school districts to vote to join a community college district that does not adjoin the school district as long as the school district is within 2 counties of the community college district and the county adjacent to the community college district does not have a public four-year open enrollment institution.
