HB 802 -- HIV Tests

This bill grants to health care professionals, emergency medical
technicians, ambulance drivers or attendants, law enforcement
officers, or fire fighters exposed to body fluid the right to
request that an HIV test be performed on the person who issued
the fluid. This person does not have a right to refuse the
requested HIV test. The protected personnel also have a right
to know the results of any HIV test performed. These persons
will be informed of confirmed positive results of the HIV tests.
Any person requesting an HIV test under this bill is immune
from civil suit regarding such testing. Persons requesting an
HIV test are also immune from discharge or discipline based upon
the results of the HIV test results.
