HB 955 -- Training of Police Dogs and Dog-Handler Teams

This bill requires that canines acquired by law enforcement
agencies after July 1, 2000, be trained and certified along with
the canines' handlers before use in law enforcement activities.
The bill allows the Director of Public Safety to establish the
rules necessary for certification and recertification.  The
training must include aggression control and bomb and narcotics
detection.
