HB 760 -- Police Disciplinary Hearings

Co-Sponsors: Witt, Barnett

This bill requires all state agencies and political subdivisions
of the state that employ law enforcement officers to establish
procedures that guarantee due process when such officers are
under investigation for any act that could lead to a
disciplinary action. Such agencies will be subject to the
procedures set forth in chapter 536, RSMo. Further, agencies
must notify an officer in writing of the nature of any
investigation before interviewing the officer. The bill
prohibits an agency from retaliating against an officer for
appealing a disciplinary decision.
