HB 1009 -- OFFICIAL STATE MANUAL

SPONSOR:  Parkinson

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Special Committee on
General Laws by a vote of 7 to 5.

This bill requires the Official State Manual to be made available
for distribution only in an electronic format on compact discs.
Printed versions of the manual will be available only upon
request, and those requesting a printed version will incur a fee
necessary to pay for all the costs related to the printing and
shipping of the manual.

FISCAL NOTE:  Estimated Effect on General Revenue Fund of an
Income of $383,778 in FY 2010, an Income of $0 in FY 2011, and a
Cost of $116,222 in FY 2012.  No impact on Other State Funds in
FY 2010, FY 2011, and FY 2012.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will reduce the cost of
printing the manual.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Parkinson.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
