Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HB 132 -- SALE OF LIQUOR

SPONSOR:  Fallert

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government by a vote of 13 to 0.

This bill allows certain charitable, fraternal, religious,
service, or veterans' organizations that are exempt from federal
taxes and have or are qualified to have a license to sell
intoxicating liquor by the drink on their premises to open on
Sundays at 9:00 a.m. instead of 11:00 a.m.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and
FY 2012.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will make this statute
consistent with other similar sections in the liquor laws.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Fallert.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
