HCS HB 244 -- CONCEALED WEAPONS SPONSOR: Jones, 89 (Hodges) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Special Committee on General Laws by a vote of 13 to 1. This substitute adds prosecuting attorneys, assistant prosecuting attorneys, circuit attorneys, and assistant circuit attorneys who have completed the firearms safety training course required under Section 571.111, RSMo, to the list of individuals who are exempt from the concealed carry permit requirements. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and FY 2012. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill is necessary for attorneys to protect themselves in their offices and the courthouse.
