HB 255 -- STATE RECORDS COMMISSION

SPONSOR:  Scharnhorst

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Corrections and Public Institutions by a vote of 12 to 0.

This bill removes the Director of the Forms Management Unit as a
voting member of the State Records Commission and replaces him or
her with the Commissioner of the Office of Administration or his
or her authorized representative.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and
FY 2012.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the Forms Management Unit no
longer exists, thereby leaving a vacancy on the commission.  The
bill will fill the vacancy.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Scharnhorst; and
Office of the Secretary of State.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
