HB 269 -- MOTOR VEHICLE CERTIFICATES OF OWNERSHIP

SPONSOR:  Dixon (Parson)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation by a vote of 10 to 0.

This bill establishes a procedure for adding or deleting a name
or names on an application for certificate of ownership for a
motor vehicle or trailer when there is an inconsistency with the
notice of lien.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and
FY 2012.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will help to clarify
liens on motor vehicle titles.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Parson; Missouri
Bankers Association; and Missouri Credit Union Association.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
