HB 282 -- CONVEYANCE IN JASPER COUNTY SPONSOR: Stevenson COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Corrections and Public Institutions by a vote of 11 to 0. This bill authorizes the Governor to convey state property located in Jasper County, known as the Joplin Regional Center, to Missouri Southern State University. The transfer may not occur until the center has relocated to different property. FISCAL NOTE: Estimated Income on General Revenue Fund of $0 or Unknown in FY 2010, FY 2011, and FY 2012. No impact on Other State Funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and FY 2012. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the Joplin Regional Center is no longer being used by the Department of Mental Health and Missouri Southern State University can make good use of the facility.
