HCS HB 358 -- MEMORIAL BRIDGE AND HIGHWAY

SPONSOR:  Dixon (Day)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation by a vote of 12 to 0.

This substitute designates the bridge over the Gasconade River on
State Highway 17 in Pulaski County as the "WWII Okinawa Veterans
Memorial Bridge" and designates Interstate 435 from mile marker
63.4 to mile marker 54.2 as the "Lamar Hunt Memorial Highway."

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and
FY 2012.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will provide a fitting
memorial to the WWII Okinawa veterans who sacrificed their lives
protecting our freedom.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Day.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
