HB 37 -- STATE LEGAL EXPENSE FUND

SPONSOR:  Sater

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Special
Committee on Professional Registration and Licensing by a vote of
11 to 0.

This bill adds medical practitioners providing services without
compensation to students at a summer camp to the list of health
care providers for whom the State Legal Expense Fund is available
for payment of certain claims filed against a provider.

FISCAL NOTE:  Estimated Cost on General Revenue Fund of Unknown
in FY 2010, FY 2011, and FY 2012.  No impact on Other State Funds
in FY 2010, FY 2011, and FY 2012.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill provides needed
protection to these volunteers at summer camps who help many
Missouri children.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Sater.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
