HCS HB 550 -- IMPLANTATION OF CERTAIN IDENTIFICATION DEVICES SPONSOR: Guest COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Real ID and Personal Privacy by a vote of 8 to 0. This substitute makes it illegal to implant a device into any person that is capable of transmitting personal information. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and FY 2012. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that implanting identification devices is not necessary for safety tracking purposes, especially in nursing homes.
