HB 745 -- STATE PURCHASING SPONSOR: Loehner COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Agriculture Policy by a vote of 12 to 0. This bill specifies that the Commissioner of the Office of Administration or any agent of the state when purchasing commodities and tangible goods must give preference to products processed in this state and to all new generation processing entities. Commodities include any agricultural product that has been processed or had value added to it in this state. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and FY 2012. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill is needed to clarify that certain value-added products qualify for the made or produced in Missouri state purchasing requirement.
