HB 811 -- DIETITIANS SPONSOR: Wasson COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Special Committee on Professional Registration and Licensing by a vote of 11 to 0. This bill requires an applicant for licensure as a dietitian to possess a current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the American Dietetic Association. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and FY 2012. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that licensees currently only have to provide proof that at some time they were certified with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. It is important that they be required to possess current registration in order to renew their licenses. Testifying for the bill were Representative Wasson; State Committee of Dietitians, Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration; and Missouri Dietetic Association. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
