Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HCS HB 909 -- CONVEYANCE IN CAPE GIRARDEAU

SPONSOR: McGhee (Brandom)

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Corrections and Public Institutions by a vote of 12 to 0.

This substitute authorizes the Governor to convey state property
located in Cape Girardeau County which currently belongs to the
Highways and Transportation Commission to an adjacent landowner.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and
FY 2012.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill clears up a title issue
created by the demolition of a bridge. The Department of
Transportation is not using nor has any plan to use the property,
and the adjacent landowner would like to take possession of this
parcel.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Brandom; and
Department of Transportation.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
