HB 953 -- MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE PROVIDERS

SPONSOR:  Ruestman

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Healthcare Transformation by a vote of 8 to 0.

This bill adds providers of certain targeted case management
services to the list of providers recognized by the Department of
Mental Health as administrative entities.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and
FY 2012.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will help decrease the
Department of Mental Health's caseload by allowing it to contract
with nonprofit entities for case management.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Ruestman; Department
of Mental Health; Ozark Consolidated Services; and Gary Burton,
ARC of the Ozarks.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
