This substitute prohibits a health carrier or health benefit plan from denying reimbursement for diagnostic imaging services based solely on a licensed physician's specialty or professional board certification. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and FY 2012. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill will not allow health carriers or health benefit plans to discriminate based on the provider's professional designation.
