Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1022 -- Conduct or Speech at Public Meetings

Sponsor: Oxford

Currently, any action seeking money damages against a person for
conduct or speech at a public hearing or meeting is subject to a
special motion to dismiss, motion for judgment on the pleadings,
or motion for summary judgment so it can to be considered on an
expedited basis to prevent the unnecessary expense of litigation.
This bill allows any action against a person for conduct or
speech at a public hearing or meeting to be subject to these
special motions.
