HB 1086 -- Public School Enrollment

This bill allows, beginning in school year 2010-2011, any school
district to adopt a policy that permits a child who turns five
years of age for kindergarten or six years of age for first grade
between August 1 and October 1 to attend school.  Schools
adopting a policy will be eligible to receive state aid for these
children.  Currently, only the Kansas City and St. Louis school
districts may establish a younger entry age.
