HB 1185 -- Office of Health Professions Workforce Planning

This bill establishes the Office of Health Professions Workforce
Planning within the Department of Health and Senior Services to
address the shortage and uneven distribution of health care
professionals in Missouri.  The office will be funded by
appropriations, gifts, grants, and bequests and with contracts
and grants from philanthropic foundations and federal
governmental agencies.  The office must seek to sustain an
adequate health workforce to provide quality care in the state
and is required to establish a health professionals data system
in collaboration with the University of Missouri-Columbia and the
Missouri Area Health Education Center, Incorporated.
