Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1191 -- Public Teacher and School Employee Retirement Systems

Sponsor:  Pratt

This bill changes the laws regarding the Public School Retirement
System of Missouri and the Public Education Employee Retirement
System of Missouri. In its main provisions, the bill:

(1) Requires all board members of both systems to file financial
interest statements pursuant to Section 105.483, RSMo;

(2) Prohibits the systems from paying for gasoline use related
to an employee's or board member's personal use of a company
vehicle. Anyone violating this provision must reimburse the
system for the cost of the gasoline;

(3) Prohibits the systems from paying for or reimbursing any
employee or board member of the systems for the cost of alcoholic
beverages; and

(4) Requires each board to create a subcommittee to review
travel reimbursement policies to ensure that travel decisions
will not result in higher travel expenses which ultimately
increase members' costs.
