Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 177 -- Court Records for Sexual Offenses

Sponsor: Cox

Currently, a victim of sexual assault, domestic assault,
stalking, or forcible rape is protected from being identified by
having his or her name redacted from the public record prior to
disclosure to the public. This bill specifies that the identity
protections for a victim do not apply to the perpetrator of these
crimes.
