HB 217 -- Admission of Nonresident Students

Prior to the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year, this bill
requires the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to
develop criteria for the admission or rejection of nonresident
students from unaccredited districts who wish to transfer to an
adjoining accredited school district.  No student can be rejected
except for reasons specified in the criteria, and appeals to the
State Board of Education are allowed.
