HB 388 -- Licensed Professional Counselors

This bill revises the definition of "professional counseling" to
include the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and amelioration of
mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.

The State Committee for Professional Counselors within the
Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional
Registration is authorized to require licensed professional
counselors wishing to render diagnosis of persons with mental or
emotional disorders to provide evidence of acceptable education
and training.
