HB 40 -- Hold Orders for Pawnshops

Sponsor:  Sater

This bill allows law enforcement officers to request certain
property used to secure personal credit loans from pawnbrokers
not be sold.  If a request is made, the pawnbroker cannot sell or
remove the property from the premises for a period of 72 hours.

Law enforcement officers are allowed to execute hold orders on
certain property held by a pawnbroker by facsimile transmission.
