Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 465 -- No-Call List

Sponsor: Zimmerman

This bill prohibits a caller from using an automatic dialing
announcing device (ADAD) unless it is designed and operated to
disconnect within 10 seconds after the call is terminated.
Telephone solicitations are prohibited to any residential
subscriber's wireless phone and includes faxes and text messaging
unless the calls conform to the current No-call List
requirements.

The use of an ADAD for placing calls to residential subscribers
on the No-call List is prohibited. If the prohibition is ruled
invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction for any reason, the
bill specifies when the use of an ADAD is allowed. Certain
educational information requirements regarding the No-call List
by the Attorney General's Office are removed.
