HB 516 -- Jury Service

Currently, upon timely application to the court, health care
providers are excused from jury service.  This bill removes the
exclusion from jury duty and instead allows the court at its
discretion to excuse a health care provider if he or she makes
timely application to the court and provides a written statement
certifying that he or she is providing health care services to
patients and that serving on a jury would be detrimental to the
health of his or her patients.
