HB 896 -- Limited Liability for Geologic Sequestration Activities Sponsor: Schoeller This bill limits the liability of any public or private entity in cases of personal injury or death related to a geologic sequestration of carbon dioxide or other gases from a single injection site to no more than $2 million with no individual receiving more than $300,000. The limits will not apply to workers' compensation cases, and no award will include punitive or exemplary damages. If the amount awarded to or settled upon by multiple claimants exceeds $2 million, any party may ask the appropriate circuit court to apportion his or her proper share of the total award.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
