HJR 42 -- Missouri Citizens' Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials Sponsor: Kander Currently, salary recommendations for elected officials, judges, and members of the General Assembly are made by the Missouri Citizens' Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials in a single salary schedule that must be approved or rejected as a whole by the General Assembly. Upon voter approval and beginning no later than December 1, 2012, this proposed constitutional amendment requires the commission to submit separate salary recommendations for elected state officials, all judges except municipal judges, and members of the General Assembly. The General Assembly will be able to veto a single salary recommendation by a two-thirds majority vote prior to February 1 of the year following the filing of the recommendation.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
