Summary of the Perfected Version of the Bill

HCS HB 250 -- USE OF PUBLIC LANDS (Wilson, 119)

COMMITTEE OF ORIGIN:  Committee on State Parks and Waterways

This substitute specifies that no individual with lawful
authority will be denied access to any public land owned,
managed, or funded by the State of Missouri for the purpose of
riding horses or mules if the land is currently in use by the
state as land upon which horses and mules may be ridden, except
when conditions are unsuitable due to public safety concerns or
necessary maintenance or for reasons related to the missions of
the departments of Conservation or Natural Resources as long as a
written statement is posted at the trailhead stating the cause
and estimated duration of the closure.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and
FY 2012.
