HB 682 -- SCHOOL MAKE-UP DAYS DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER (Swinger)

COMMITTEE OF ORIGIN:  Committee on Elementary and Secondary
Education

Currently, schools are required to make up the first six days of
school lost due to inclement weather and half of the additional
days lost in excess of the first six.  This bill allows an
exception for the 2008-2009 school year by requiring schools to
make up half of the remaining lost days up to a total of 10 full
make-up days.

The bill contains an emergency clause.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2010, FY 2011, and
FY 2012.
