HCS HB 685 -- SEARCH WARRANTS (Jones, 117) COMMITTEE OF ORIGIN: Committee on Public Safety This substitute specifies that the State Highway Patrol does not have to be accompanied by the county sheriff when it serves search warrants for offenses relating to driving while intoxicated and for the investigation of motor vehicle traffic accidents. The patrol will not be required to notify the county sheriff of any search warrant for offenses relating to driving while intoxicated.
