HB 1258 -- MEMORIAL HIGHWAY

SPONSOR:  Todd

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation by a vote of 13 to 0.

This bill designates a portion of State Highway 53 in Butler
County from the city limits of Qulin to one mile south of the
city limits as the "Johnny Lee Hays Memorial Highway."

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2011, FY 2012, and
FY 2013.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will provide a fitting
memorial for a 34-year Department of Transportation employee who
passed away from injuries sustained on the job.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Todd.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
