HB 1494 -- TRANSFER OF REAL PROPERTY BY STATE UNIVERSITIES

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Corrections and Public Institutions by a vote 12 of 0.

This bill removes the expiration date of August 28, 2011, from
the provision which allows the board of governors and the board
of regents of certain state universities to convey or transfer
real property, except in fee simple, without authorization from
the General Assembly.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2011, FY 2012, and
FY 2013.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill is needed to allow the
board of governors and the board of regents of certain state
universities to continue leasing property.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Schaaf; Missouri
Western State University; and University of Central Missouri.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
