HCS HB 1571 & 1645 -- DAILY EXPENSE ALLOWANCE FOR GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEMBERS SPONSOR: Jones (117) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Administration and Accounts by a vote of 11 to 0. This substitute specifies that for two years from the effective date of the substitute the daily expense allowance received by General Assembly members will remain the same as the rate in effect on September 30, 2009. The substitute contains an emergency clause. FISCAL NOTE: Estimated Income on General Revenue Fund of $226,624 in FY 2011, $26,080 to $70,144 in FY 2012, and $0 in FY 2013. No impact on Other State Funds in FY 2011, FY 2012, and FY 2013. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill will revert the daily per diem allowance for members of the General Assembly back to $87.20. With a tight state budget, this reduction is the right thing to do. Testifying for the bill was Representative Jones (117). OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
