HB 1657 -- TRAILER DEALER LIABILITY INSURANCE

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Insurance Policy by a vote of 10 to 0.

Currently, a trailer dealer is required to provide a copy of a
current dealer garage liability insurance policy when submitting
his or her licensure application.  This bill removes that
requirement.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2011, FY 2012, and
FY 2013.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will exempt trailer
dealers, who often do not have a garage, from being required to
carry a dealer garage liability insurance policy.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Dethrow.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
