Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HB 1775 -- MEMORIAL HIGHWAY

SPONSOR:  Shively

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation by a vote of 13 to 0.

This bill designates a portion of U. S. Highway 36 located 1.7
miles west of the intersection of U. S. Highway 36 and State
Route O in Macon County as the "Missouri State Trooper William
Brandt Memorial Highway."

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2011, FY 2012, and
FY 2013.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will provide a fitting
memorial for a trooper who was killed in the line of duty.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Shively; and Missouri
State Troopers Association.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
