HB 1941 -- MEMORIAL HIGHWAY

SPONSOR:  Parson

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation by a vote of 13 to 0.

This bill designates a portion of State Highway 13 from the
intersection of State Highway 32 to the intersection of State
Highway 83 in Polk County as the "John Playter Memorial Highway."

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2011, FY 2012, and
FY 2013.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will provide a fitting
memorial to an individual who survived the Bantaan Death March in
World War II.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Parson.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
