Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HB 2056 -- COURT RECORDS

SPONSOR:  Diehl

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Judiciary by a vote of 12 to 0.

This bill requires a lien on real estate that is obtained based
on a judgment or order for child support or maintenance to state
only the last four digits of the obligor's Social Security
number.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2011, FY 2012, and
FY 2013.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill protects the
confidentiality of Social Security numbers by only requiring the
last four digits to be disclosed on a real estate lien.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Diehl; and Missouri
Bar.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
