HB 1215 -- Public School Health Screenings

Beginning with the 2011-2012 school year, this bill requires
public school students enrolled in the second and eighth grades
to provide proof that they have received a physical examination
within the past 12 months.  The bill specifies the criteria for
the examination and requires the Department of Health and Senior
Services, in collaboration with the Missouri State Medical
Association and the Missouri Osteopathic Association, to develop
a standardized form.  Students whose parents or guardians submit
a written statement in certain circumstances may be exempt from
the examination.
