HB 1277 -- Tobacco Use on Public School Property

Currently, state law prohibits smoking or the use of tobacco
products inside school facilities and on school buses but allows
school districts to set policies regarding the permissible uses
of tobacco products in outdoor areas and nonstudent facilities.
This bill repeals the district's authority to set policies
allowing the use of tobacco products in certain areas and
prohibits smoking and the use of tobacco products on all school
property as specified in the bill and on school buses.
