HB 1522 -- Gift Certificates

This bill prohibits any person or business entity from selling
gift certificates that have an expiration date or any kind of
service fee.  Abandoned or unused gift certificates will not be
subject to state unclaimed property provisions or become property
of the State Treasurer.  Anyone violating the provisions of the
bill will be guilty of unfair merchandising practices and subject
to penalties under Section 407.020, RSMo.
