HB 1527 -- Nonpartisan Municipal Elections Sponsor: Schaaf Currently, in a nonpartisan election in any political subdivision or special district with the exception of municipal elections, candidates are allowed to take office without an election if the number of candidates is equal to the number of positions to be filled and proper notice has been published in at least one newspaper of general circulation in the district.
