HB 1549 -- Custodial Interrogation Recordings Sponsor: Calloway Currently, law enforcement agencies are not required to perform custodial interrogations of persons suspected of committing or attempting to commit certain felonies when the interrogations are not feasible, the suspect requests the interrogation not be recorded, the interrogation occurs outside the state, or if the recording equipment is not available or fails. This bill removes these exceptions to require the recording. If the recording equipment fails during an interrogation, the agency must stop the interrogation until the equipment is repaired or other equipment can be used.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
